Fully mapping scheme fees
In order to be able to pass on the scheme fees charged by credit card organizations to merchants in full or in an optimal form, the fee structure of the schemes must first be fully recorded. This information will then be used to reconfigure the IC++ fee model in VR Payment’s billing system. The aim is to ensure complete coverage of the scheme fees charged by credit card organizations.
The solution
Rules developed for all scheme fees
In order to meet our customer’s requirements, OSTHAVEN worked with the responsible colleagues at VR Payment to review the complete fee structure of all credit card organizations in the portfolio. Based on this, rule systems were defined for each individual scheme fee, which can assign the respective fees to the corresponding transactions. The billing system was then reconfigured accordingly using these rule sets. All process steps were carried out in close coordination with the Controlling and Product Management departments.
The result
Transparent and rule-based billing
The newly configured billing scheme ensures that all cost-relevant scheme fees are covered and can be passed on. In addition, a process was established across the entire company to ensure that any necessary adjustments resulting from changes in the fee structures of the schemes are made. Appropriate documentation of the adjustments and the new process was created.
