The challenge

PSP change in the growing payment sector

Online retailer Peter Hahn was looking for a new service provider to process credit card payments. At the same time, the range of services was to be expanded to include the alternative payment methods iDEAL, TWINT, and PayPal. To date, the vast majority of orders had been processed on the company’s own account using purchase on account or installment credit, so the volume via the payment service provider (PSP) was low but growing rapidly.

The solution

Structured selection process with expertise

OSTHAVEN was involved in the project and the tendering process as a payment expert. First, the tender documents were prepared, including all necessary functional and technical performance characteristics and information for the providers. The bids were evaluated and individual discussions were held with the providers. Using a weighted evaluation matrix that included both functional and technical characteristics as well as price and cost components, the service provider best suited to Peter Hahn was selected and integrated into the system as the project progressed.

The result

Modern payment methods and lower costs

The successful transition to the new service provider enabled the establishment of a high-performance payment process with modernized processing and a state-of-the-art payment method portfolio. At the same time, significant cost advantages were generated. The collaboration with the new service provider is very good and contributes to the further development of payments at Peter Hahn.
